The name of this vine variety derives from the legend of Albaluce, a nymph born from the impossible love between the Dawn and the Sun. Albaluce’s beauty prompted a man to offer her all sorts of tributes. Deprived of sustenance, the man looked for new fertile lands by diverting the course of the lake, which, however, swept everything away and sowed death. Albaluce was suffering so much that her tears originated vine shoots from the ground, with white grape named Erbaluce.
