Caluso Passito DOCG 2019
Caluso Passito is made from the Erbaluce grape variety, only in years when intact, healthy clusters reach the optimum ripeness. The special attention we pay in the vineyard and the high insolation of our hills allow the clusters to take on a golden color and a high sugar content.
Only the best bunches are used to produce this fine wine. After several months of natural drying process and a traditional vinification, this wine is aged in wooden barrels for a minimum of 3 years. This wine ranges in color from golden yellow to dark amber. It is characterized by a sweet, harmonious, full and velvety flavor and a delicate, ethereal aroma reminiscent of dried figs, honey and candied fruit.
Passito represents our origins, as Erbaluce was initially produced only as a sweet wine, to drink or give as a gift on festivals and holidays. Quality of the grapes and patience are the two key ingredients in the production of our passito.

Thanks to the balanced alcohol-sugar ratio and the pleasant sweet but never cloying flavor, this wine can be paired with both dry pastries and dark chocolate, as well as with strong and blue cheeses.
